Join us for an exploration of the erotic and devotional poetry of John Donne, the leading English poet of the Metaphysical school and dean of St. Paul’s Cathedral, London. Donne is often considered the greatest love poet in the English language. We will focus on Donne but include some key works from Andrew Marvell, Robert Herrick and George Herbert.

Has SCOTUS travelled the proverbial arc that bends towards justice, or has it just been on a political roller coaster? This course will try to answer that question by looking at some of the Court’s most prominent eras. We’ll see how the Court’s focus has shifted over time, starting with the Marshall Court’s efforts to prop up the fledgling national government and ending with modern the Courts' focus on restoring states’ power...sort of.
